Title: Triggering drumbeat from sequencers
Post by: bbbb on April 23, 2014, 12:21:02 PM
Hey all,
I don't own the PreenFM2 yet, but I am planning to buy it.

I have a question about the internal sequencers. Would it be possible to make (simple) drumbeats with them? And would it be possible to trigger these (like a start/stop button) from something like a midi controller button or pad?

Thanks

Yes, you can do this as the Preen has 4 instruments available simultaneously.  It can also be configured to listen for external MIDI, though I'm not 100% sure the internal sequencer is listening for Start/Stop.

Yes using the 4 instruments allows you to have 4 different simple "tracks".

You can the external midi sync feature to have your tempo in sync with your other hardware.
Then the arpeggiator can make some dumbeat.. The last feature that Patrick developed can be interested for you, each instrument can have 4 user defined "beat pattern" for the arpeggiator". You can modify this pattern in real time.

To trigger you can send   midi note to the midi channel of each instruments.
