Title: LEDs when building with the metal case.
Post by: DubplateDerek on June 15, 2014, 05:30:16 PM
I'm putting together preen 2 with the metal case, and I'm confused about whether the four LEDs should be included or not. There aren't any drill holes for them on the front panel, so they'll be hidden behind metal if I include them. This isn't an issue on the see through perpex cases of course...

Are these LED holes missing by accident, or on purpose?

Cheers

Hi,

Yes they'll be hidden behind the metal.
You may see them through the knob holes if you screw the knobs enough above the surface control.

The 4 leds do not show any information. They're just nice.
Their only goal is to blink in sync with your external midi clock. They always blink all at the same time.
And a little note on the display blinks at the same time too.

Cool, thanks for the confirmation :-)

I had a little scan through the manual and saw that they were not required for general operation.

Great project by the way. Super easy to put together...
