Just did some messing around and found out that you can export TXT files from Audacity.
Analyze -> Sample Data Export
Measurement scale: Linear
File Data Format: Sample List (txt) // You can also do indexed list first to check if you're putting out 1024 samples in the txt file
Include header information: None
Optional header text: {4-char preenfm2 display name} {num samples}

Thanks a lot Jarvis for this super usefull message 8)
I wanted to research and did not find the time...

Excellent! I had no idea about this, but it should make it easy to process waveforms I've generated in Reaper.

How do i import waveforms to my PreenFM2?

How do i import waveforms to my PreenFM2?
Plug your preenfm in your computer with your USB cable.
Turn on you preenfm while pressing a button, it will enter "bootloader mode".
Then press "access USB".
You shoul see the USB drive on your computer.
(You can also take off the USB drive from the preenfm and plug i directly in your computer).
Then go to :
http://ixox.fr/preenfm2/manual/synth-edit-mode/
and search for "user waveform" :)

Thanks Jarvis for the help , is working ;)

hello,
i would like to know if you have some .txt user waveform to share ? i searched the internet and i didn't find any .txt files. ???
thx !
-
you can make a topic to put your waveforms to start to sharing with the others ;)
-
Many thanks Xavier for the new updates .. Loving it
As for waveforms, I haven't tried audacity, but hope can find some waveforms similar to Shruthi 1 to upload

what pitch should be used when making the sample for import? I played c3 but pitched it down 24 steps and 2 of them sound in tune, another doesnt really. I see pitch is related to the number of samples some how but i dont quite get it
and I read that importing the .txt will normalise the sample to 0 and 0 correct?
-
As you must only keep 1 wave cycle, the pitch does not matter.
Yes the preenfm read the txt file and normalized the values.
-
What's the best / accurate way of selecting a 1024 sample range within Audacity from your sound file?
-
Plz help!
I cant understand how convert waveform to txt? i try to create but every time i have just silence.
(audacity 2.3.0 osx)
thnx

I found a great tool for making band limited waveforms: https://www.futur3soundz.com/wavetable-synthesis
Near the bottom of that page you will find a link to WCreate and instructions for using it. It creates .wav files with a specified number of samples (use 1024 for Preen) and sinewave partials in the magnitude, frequency and phase you want. I used the method mentioned at the top of this thread with Audacity to convert the .wav files .txt files for Preen.
I'm finding the additive synthesis possibilities with Preen algorithm 27 quite interesting. For example you can use WCreate to make a waveform with some harmonics and another one with some of the same harmonics 180 degrees out of phase. By adding the two in the right proportions you can remove harmonics from the first waveform. This can be controlled by the operator envelopes to change over time. This allows more precise control of harmonic content than the FM algorithms.
WCreate also makes awesome sounding organ tones!

that's a very keen observation. thanks for the great tip!

two online waveform editors where you can export wav files and set 1024 samples
