Title: Schematics library
Post by: zelea2 on October 28, 2017, 01:34:51 AM
Hi Xavier,

Would you mind checking the missing "special" Kicad library in git? The schematics looks broken and with missing symbols when I try to load it in Kicad.

Thanks.

I think you're using Kicad 4.
Library management has changed, and preenfm2 schematics have been designed with Kicad 3.
If you can find the old version, that should work.
Else you have to convert the library, it's not straightforward but i think I found some tutorials some time ago.

Yes, you're right. It's because some symbols have changed in KiCAD 4 and now the schematics looks incomplete. Unfortunately this is an example where open-source failed to provide a clean migration path to newer versions. On my Debian system if I try to run any version older than 4.0.0 it segfaults.

While the schematics itself can be manually upgraded to version 4 without to much hassle, the link with the PCB will be broken.

Can someone with a working KiCAD v3 generate a PDF of the schematics and check that in?
