preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: eurorack 2.11 cv to instrument new mode
« on: June 11, 2020, 02:49:02 PM »
Great,
finally it is a full implemented CV to PreenFM mode. It works great and fast. Just did a test with my old CV inputs I made years ago. Maybe Xavier will remember, in 1997 when he opened 4 ports for CV in. It was beginning of it.
I only use diode protection for ARM and scaling CV with external mixer.

Is it possible to route it to Midi-out? Would be great because PreenFM is now a comfortable CV to Midi converter.

How can one  instrument play only at one mono output,
or how it can programmed to play all 4 instruments to 4 outputs individually?
I'm sure it works, but can't find it in Menu.
Thanks

Found several 2GB sticks. Tested them and they work. Housing is a bit to big, so I removed it.
If some looking for a working Stick, please send me an e-mail.

None of my four new Intensio Nano 4GB stick boot at start up.

Press ENG" at startup works and a screen display and reboot is possible, also flashing...

Choose "MTX: DFU" tells me "STM32F4 USB DFU" and I have to restart. What does it means?
One stick boots sometimes after several restarts!

When I change USB stick when running every USB stick boots immediately! Controller permanent looks for a stick. Is a none working USB stick to fast or to slow??

Older Nano 4GB stick works and "pfm2" folder is on stick.

Is there a specification for USB stick to work properly with an original preen controller?

preefm2 with CV inputs:
At the moment only 2CV in are active. PCB only a prototyp. Later a little pcb will be finished to fit direct on P3, input of ADC.
Input protection works fine:

Yes,
but at the moment it is great to have the option of CV in.
Let us explore the possibilities and be happy.
I modify my frontpanel for 4 CVin and make a little pcb for 4CV protection/scalers next days.
The pcb fits on JP3 and needs only few cables.
I keep you informed.

Thanks Xavier,
software adcIN  installed and works.
A quick test with hardware scaler on and it works also.
Now test it and play around.
Is it possible to play notes via CV1-FQ and CV2-Gate (routed in matrix)?
At the moment I started to play a note manually or with Midi or running Appegiator.

Attached are two possible desings for scaling an anlog input singal to 3,3V with diode protection.
For a 12 bit convertion it should work. It is easy to implement in existing pcb.

Thanks,
who can compile me this github stuff: acdcIN?
I'am analog.
Question: AD controll range is 0-3.3V. For a scaling opamp one use an inverting desing and output is 3,3V to V.
Therefore it is better to invert input range in acdcIn firmware.
Possible?
As far I get a compiled version I test it and draw a little schematic with board.

Nice to read this.
I is more concret to open the gates for CV in?
It would be nice to open 2 input for 2CV and Gate/Trigger signals to use it in "Matrix".
I don´t know how a Gate could to be implemented. At first it make sense for me.
To scale voltes down to 3,3V I can try it to do.

Fine Xavier,
after you opening a few ports for analog in, I cut associated holes in the frontpanel.
Good idea?

Finshed my 3HE Eurorack version of this super FM synth.
It is 162mm or 32TE and 40mm deep.
Frontpanel is available in dxf - format on request.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Layout for Frontpanel
« on: December 16, 2015, 01:09:12 AM »
I am planning to build a pfm in eurorack format.
But can´t find files for frontpanel or cases.
Files I need should be for "autocad" or "inkscape" or even .dxf files are welcome.
I hope it´s open source.

Thanks

What option there is to save an edited sound or preset?
I don´t really understand where to save:  as sysex but where, to my PC?
... and I need a software, pfm Editor??
Is there no other way to do.
I thought I can save driect to USB Stick - wrong idea?

But preemFM2 is a great an wonderful machine and
I learn a lot about FM in parallel reading "Computer music tutorial"
"IM" is great now I understand.
Thanks
