PreenFM2 / Re: Combo Change Using Max/MSP?
« on: April 22, 2018, 02:50:19 PM »
Doesn't have to be with the [ctlout] object of course if there's a better way of sending CC messages to the PreenFM2 from Max?  I've been looking around the objects and nothing jumps out...

Thanks - so there’s no way to open up a .bnk file in a text editor of some kind and edit voice blocks out?

PreenFM2 / Delete Voice?

Is there a quick way to delete a voice within a bank?  Or do you have to overwrite it with another to get rid of something you don't want to store any more?

I guess this has to be done from the front panel of the Preen as obviously everything is stored as a single .bnk file when you access the memory stick via the bootloader?

PreenFM2 / Combo Change Using Max/MSP?
« on: April 20, 2018, 10:46:24 AM »
I'm trying to use Max/MSP to send a Combo change instruction to the PreenFM2 but I'm not sure how to set up the [ctrlout] object to send this info:

Bank select (CC#0) and Bank Select LSB (#32)
Bank select=1 => BankLSB=Combo number

This is the help screen for [ctrlout] if any MIDI literate folk can make sense of it?

Thanks for any help, appreciate this is really a Max/MSP question but figured it was a specific PreenFM2 set up.

What's the best / accurate way of selecting a 1024 sample range within Audacity from your sound file?

Just wanted to say I'm really enjoying using Edisyn with the FM2, excellent work 8)

One thing - and apologies if I've missed something obvious - is there a way to slow down the "stepping" speed between Candidates when you're running a Hill-Climb?  On slower / evolving type patches with long envelopes it sometimes hops to the next Candidate before you've had a chance to hear what's happening.

PreenFM2 / Re: Black Encoder Knobs?

Just to finish off / update this thread, I've successfully swapped the acrylic case out for the Van Daal metal case.

The only slight issue was I needed slightly different length stand-offs to those provided to attach the board to the top of the case and to stop the Plexi CNC glass from moving around too much.  I wasn't the original builder of the board so could just be that the OLED needed some longer stand-offs when it was assembled (as mentioned earlier in the thread).  No big deal.

Didn't go with the Eagle knobs from Mouser in the end, went with some black 1900h Davies clones from Thonk

It is this design:

The board has R5c on it and this is a shot of the OLED header from the back of the unit.

I didn't build it but it was assembled in the last month or so.

Hope that helps?

Thanks!

I have a PreenFM2 in the black / clear acrylic case, if I want to swap that over to the Van Daal white metal case is there anything that would need changing on the board layout apart from the longer wires on the DIN sockets and the additional spacers for the OLED mentioned here?

PreenFM2 / Black Encoder Knobs?

Does anyone know which manufacturer makes these blank, black d-shaft encoder knobs for the PreenFM2 metal case:

Thought they were by Cliff or Sifam but seem to be having trouble finding them.  Thanks for any info.
