preenfm2 and preenfm3 / On/Off Button - Pictures
« on: September 27, 2015, 06:12:05 PM »
Hi all

I added a on/off button to my PreenFM (see attached).  Its a standard one from Maplin; I might change it for the same model but the illuminated version.

Its a bit tight to add as you need to drill a 15mm hole and its very close to the Midi In.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Suggestion: Operator Solo function
« on: September 25, 2015, 12:30:25 PM »
Loving my newly build PreenFN2..

A pretty nifty feature of the DSI Poly Evolver is that you can solo oscillators by holding the particular oscillator button for 1 second then releasing (un-solo by clicking the button a second time) .  This becomes super useful for sound design as you can quickly listen to just that Oscillator.

You can also do the same with modulation sources.  For example, you can solo the effect of LFO1 by holding the LFO1 button for 1 second.  This temporarily turns off all modulators apart from LFO1.  Again, this is a very userful feature..

Question: could this be considered for the PreenFM Operators and modulation sources please?  Without dedicated Operator and Mod source buttons, it will be a bit more tricky to implement but maybe just holding the OP and MOD could solo for whatever Operator or Mod Source is currently selected..?

Thanks

Paul

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Encoder value jumping by 2 (new build)
« on: September 22, 2015, 11:05:21 PM »
Hi all

Finished my build tonight and surprisingly, it all worked first time!!  :)

The 4 encoders are increasing the values by two.  More precisely, the indents increase by two but if you are careful and get the encoder onto the "dent" you then get the skipped value (so increments by 1).

Is this normal?  Perhaps there is a system setting that allows the indents to increase by 1 rather than 2?

Wonderful synth btw - really looking forward to getting into it..

Paul
