[Moved here by Xavier]

I wonder if it's possible in the new PFM3 to design it so that there is no clicking when changing programs.

It's the reason I stopped using the PFM2 in my live sets and have found the most frustrating thing about it to be the patch management. When sending program changes, all timbres have a momentary hiccup.

Also would be really nice to make it easier to edit a patch and save changes without having to navigate back to the exact patch number. This is simple enough if you're editing from the front panel, but for example if you have landed on a patch from an midi program change and have messed with the patch and now want to save changes. presently this is a frustrating experience whereby you have to locate that exact patch number and then manually overwrite it.

I'm using an external midi controller and sequencer to make music with the Pfm2.
Running each voice on it's own channel, I wish there was a way to quickly change which voice is being edited and see the patch name without having to click through on the unit. This way, I could have the keyboard tell the pfm2 to focus on the same patch that I'm playing when switching between them.

Is it possible that this feature exists and I'm missing it?

I like the idea of using a master controller for all my synths, with as little menu diving as possible, but there are always little hurdles like this getting in the way.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / any way to select scala files via midi?
« on: November 11, 2018, 10:24:52 AM »
I'm using a few different synths to make some microtonal compositions with the help of the H-Pi Tbx2 tuning box, which can send tuning messages to several synths at once.

Is there any way for the PFM2 can receive any message to change the current scala tuning? I'd like to change tunings on the fly while performing and avoid menu diving if possible.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Any PFM2 Librarian software out there?
« on: October 16, 2018, 04:02:49 AM »
I've searched in all of the obvious places, but just thought I'd put out a call just in case I missed something or someone has a custom thing they've made.

In early days I dumped hundreds of dx7 patches on the preen and then over time modified them to my liking, but now I want to organize them and moving patches into new banks is very time consuming. Patch management is really one of my only gripes with this fantastic synth.  :)

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / quick save?
« on: July 23, 2018, 02:16:04 PM »
Hi, I'm probably missing something obvious here, but is there any way to quickly save changes made to a patch?

I've been navigating back through the file system to locate the patch I've edited in order to save it to the same slot. But this is pretty tedious to be honest. With many banks, it's easy to get lost.

Please let me know if there is a simpler way  :) thanks!

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / cc question
« on: November 06, 2017, 12:02:13 PM »
Hi, I'm truly sorry if this is super obvious, but for some reason I cannot figure it out:

how does one control the volumes of the four patches independently using CC? I'm using a Squarp Pyramid with the PFM2 and would love to map volume and other cc to some knobs and lfos and such, but I cannot really make heads or tails of the midi implementation chart as I don't speak nrpn just yet.

I see that I can control the Filter Gain with CC 73, is that the only way?

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / distortion
« on: March 29, 2017, 02:17:37 AM »
Hi, I'm new to this so I truly apologize if this has been covered. I searched the forum but didn't find a clear answer to this.

I bought my preenfm2 prebuilt, second hand. I absolutely love this thing! The build seems legit and everything functions as it should and firmware is up to date. There's the slight 15khz noise that others have mentioned. That I can live with for now, and soon I will attempt the mod to deal with that.

But I'm experiencing a noticeable fuzz on pure sine waves. Even with the gain turned down, running a single op sine wave, there is a little hairiness that is driving me nuts. It's not noticeable with other waveforms or on complex patches, but it's definitely there. I'll try to post an audio recording soon. Just wanted to see if anybody had any quick info on the matter.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Tuning issues
« on: March 29, 2017, 02:05:27 AM »
I am running into a strange problem where if I use a patch to build chords, any chord containing more than 6 notes becomes detuned as pitches are added.

I noticed this while using the microtonal feature to create some music in Just Intonation, but then realized that this happens even with scala tunings disabled. does this happen on your preenfm2?

try this: Hold a C, add one by one: D-E-F-G-A-C. Now continue holding the two C keys, but let go of notes between. They are out of tune, but if you release and then retrigger them, they are now in tune.

Here are some examples that I recorded in just intonation so that it's more noticeable.
