Fantastic work Xavier! I'm going to have a play with this as soon as I get some spare time later this week. My poor Preen is feeling a little neglected. I hope it functions okay with El Capitan, but you'll be the first to get an update if it doesn't. Which version would be best for Mac OS 10.11.6?

Hi Xavier.

I appreciate that support is limited during the summer but I am having problems downloading the SVG file for the case. Instead of getting an SVG, I keep getting the html file associated with the page. This is really frustrating because I can't translate any dimensioning into AutoCAD without it. Please advise.

kind regards

Hmm... managed to get something working here. I should have created the folder first- which I didn't. It's not so clear in the documentation, which I think needs to be made a little more concise (constructive criticism - so please no flaming!) :)

So perhaps if I apply the same principle with the patches and banks, maybe this also works with the firmware update?

cheers!

Tom

Hi Xavier.

I've tried to update the firmware from 2.06 to .07 however I'm being told that Preen cannot find the pfm2 folder. When I connect to my Mac via USB, Preen mounts in USB mode as 'DISK_IMG', indicating that 'folder' is in fact named 'DISK_IMG'. I've successfully mounted Preen on my Mac, and copied files over. But I still get this error message. What am I doing wrong?

best,

Tom

Hi Xavier.

Board revision is R5d

The OLED resistor isn't in place. ('OLED=0 or 22 for Mod'... etc?). Should I solder in a 22Ω resistor?

EDIT: "If you have a PCB R5d (or +) : solder a 22ohm at the "oled" position and go to step 4 directly... DON't do step 1,2,3."

Ahh! Just reread this. Will try now. :)

It gets even stranger. Turning the other rotaries, compromises the brightness completely! Something can't be right. I haven't updated the firmware yet (if there is an update?). Still on 2.0.6

Ah. This is odd. When I turn rotary 1 to change algorithm although these change, the screen brightness also changes! Is this a feature?

Fantastic stuff Xavier!

One more question, the brightness seems a little dim on the OLED. Is there anyway of increasing it?

Hi Xavier.

Finally got around to building mine. I used the Mouser BOM, but got a trimmer, which looks like it's supposed to be RV1. What's it for, as it doesn't suggest anywhere about fitting it.

Also what are connectors P1 and P3 for?

Lastly, those looking for the PCB header pin arrays used for the OLED, in the UK, Maplin sell these which is handy to know- since I couldn't find them at either Mouser UK or RS.

Cheers!

Maplin in the UK have the Yellow OLED's in stock (or at least they look like the same ones), but alas, and being quite typical of Maplin, they're really expensive.

Hi Xavier

Thanks for the super-quick reply.

Those black on white displays possibly look even cooler than the white on black OLED displays! And $6 too? Bargain. :)

Hi forum/Xavier.

I received my board and chip/usb/connectors the other day- thanks!

Going through the BOM via Mouser, I note that both the screen and the Alps pots won't be in stock for another 14 weeks or longer (!!!). I can't wait that long. Do you have any links for alternatives to these two parts? I notice that you too are obviously having stock problems seeing that the OLED offered in the kit is white instead of yellow. Is it a matter of just choosing the white OLED alternative? And what would you recommend for a cheaper LCD screen? And those Alps pots. Is an alternative available, and where?

Happy xmas, and kind regards,

tom.
