I found a strange bug with saving envelopes in the preset.
I don't know if this bug was in the past firmware, there is no time to check yet.  ::)

For example, if you change the envelope curves to Exp, then save the preset, turn off Preen, turn on and load this preset, then the envelopes sound like linear, although the value of Exp is shown. But if you switch the value back and forth, then everything returns to normal.
Moreover, the bug manifests itself if you turn off and turn on Preen. If you just restart the preset, the bug does not appear.

Correction: the bug is relevant for the sustain stage.

Hello Toltekradiation!
Thanks for your great work!

Two wishes, if possible...  ::)

Is it possible organize to save the position of performance parameters in a preset or in a mix?

Is it possible to add a Constant as a source to the modulation matrix?
Sometimes such a source is not enough, and using a rectangular LFO for this is too wasteful.

I hopefully fixed the two issues :)
Oh yeah! Thank you!

Hello Xavier!
It's just incredible!  :o I only began to dream of how good it would be to have the effects of delay on a separate slot.
Thank you!

Indeed, presets saved in the old firmware do not work. But it’s good that you can first turn off the effects, save and then open the presets in a new firmware.

Toltekradiation, I apologize, hurried with the conclusion in the last message and did not test carefully.
Delc now works fine. But Ping and Diff still have a whistle around 12 kHz, it seems at the same level as in the previous firmware.  ::)

Hello @toltekradiation
Wow! This is incredible! Now it works perfect for me. ))
Thank you for these effects now Preenfm3 has become much more self-sufficient. ))

Hi Toltekradiation!
Thank you so much for the excellent work done!
I noticed that some delay effects (Delc, Ping, Diff) have a high -frequency whistle around 12 kHz, regardless of feedback, which complicates their use somewhat. Attached the screen.
The rest is wonderful effects. ))

Do you plan the effects of delay with longer time values, if possible? ::)

Hi Xavier!
Hmm ... While collecting patches in the bank, I discovered a strange thing ...
The patches that were created on the old firmware from Toltekradiation using filters and effects such as LPx1/2, TXR1/2, ROT and others are loaded and use these filters, although they are not in firmware 2.20. Moreover, you can switch the types of effects, where all the old effects will be and they work. :o But once you reach the last filter on the list, all old filters disappear.
That is, in firmware 2.20, all these filters are present, but hidden?
Is it possible to make them always active? All of them could give quite interesting colors in sound design.
Otherwise, I'm in some confusion while collecting the bank ... is it worth leaving the old effects in presets?  ::)

Thanks for your feedback guys!
I will try to build a bank with presets within a week.
Not enough free time ...

Thanks for your feedback.
No, it's painted MDF. The stand is made on a CNC machine.

I mean that tracks with instruments (parts) were not previously dumped into audio and were not processed separately in any way. Here I am using Octatrack just as a midi sequencer for four (or less) instruments (parts). Then the audio from PreenFM2 goes to Strymon Bigsky and then is recorded. Only some maximization in the final. There is no more processing. Only careful adjustment of the parameters of each instrument. After all, FM synthesis gives you enough control over the sound spectrum, and flexible envelopes allow you to fine-tune the dynamics. Also, the excellent ability to control the panorama of the carriers allows you to do without chorus and other things. Even the delay can be simulated using automation. Of course, all this is not a panacea, but it gives a unique and interesting result.

All this means that at one point in time in each demo only one instance of PreenFM2 is playing - only one Combo with a maximum of four instruments. Although it may seem like more instruments are playing, this is because Octatrack controls some parameters ... in particular the carrier mix levels, their frequencies and other parameters. That is, one instrument (part) can sound like two or more instruments. For example, this is a good trick for drums, where one instrument (part) plays kick, snare and hat at the same time, you just need to control the carrier mixes in time. And Octatrack is doing this, controlling the MIDI CC. P-locks is a handy feature. Also in Octa, you can draw your own LFO shapes and then control various parameters to create additional rhythmic movements.

OT as a sequencer, PreenFM2, Bigsky and nothing else. Endless minimalism. 8)

Almost all demos use the Swell algorithm as a reverb ... it does not give tails from short sounds, so it can be used on the general mix. Although, this is not the best approach. PFM3 with separate outs would be a great solution.

Yes, absolutely all the drums in this playlist are synthesized in Preen. In "Flea King" too. Here kick and clap are one instrument with mix parameter automation.

I think the presets themselves will say more than I can write. ::)
But no problem case I will answer questions.
I will try to build a bank in the next couple of weeks.
Drum presets are also included.

Iskin (builder) assembled a synthesizer in a white case. I just made a gray stand on my CNC.

Thanks for the feedback and many thanks for the wonderful synthesizer!

I hope google translate hasn't misrepresented the meaning too much. My English is lame. :-[

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / demo of some of my patches
« on: January 14, 2021, 07:03:38 PM »
Hi! Here is a demonstration of some of my patches.
Only PreenFM2 sounds. Including all drums. No sampling. A maximum of four parts are played at one time.
All midi from Octatrack. Reverb - Bigsky.
https://soundcloud.com/fingersdog/sets/preenfm2-demos

There are two patches playing here, but all drums are made in Octatrack from a noise sample.

After a while, I will put together a bank with some patches and put them in free access.
Insanely addicting synth. ))

Hi Toltekradiation, thank you so much for continuing to work.
Are you planning to return the lost effects and filters?
In particular, Diod, Lad+, Alkx, Txr1/2, LPx1/2 and others. All this was quite interesting, in my opinion, and brought variety to the sound design.

@Toltekradiation, thank you very much!
I'm testing... while everything works fine  :)
