Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

1. This is how it works. To avoid saturation and to laverage the room in the sample as much as possible for each algorithm.
That's the same with the number total voices used by all the timbres.  The final mix stage divides the final sample by the number of voice so that it fits the 18 bits of the converter.

2. I'm surprise by the >0.. That's true that upper operator cannot have large IM. And it works better with small frequency in the upper op... I'll give a depper look.

3. I need more information on this one. The IM is multiplied by the input operator which has en enveloppe. So the begining of the sound can differ from the end, which is maybe what you hear. There are 48 seconds (16 seconds * (Atk +  dec + sus)) = during which the enveloppe can vary.
Let me know with more details.

Yes when you receive midi clock while browsing... Should be fixed with 0.9p.

To be honest, FM is less about the starting point (the waveform) and more about modifying the waveform with modulators and algorithms.

What 6581punk says ;-)

I  don't know how can change the waves from source code!

That's not the hardest point.
Give me the table required in step 2 and i can compile it for you.

Expected format can be seen here :
https://github.com/Ixox/preenFM2/blob/master/waveforms/waves.c

You'll have to investigate and work on your own for this step 2.

how can make the saw d wave into preen fm to make a dub stabs?

1 - Get the PreenFM code on github.
2 - Get one cycle of the "saw d" wave,  turn it into a C float array of 1024 or 2048 values between -1.0 and 1.0.
3 - Modify the wave.c files and replace one of the waveforms buy yours.
4- recompile and flash the new firmware

Easy ? No ;-)

Don't know about Operator.

But the preenFM2 wavetables are in the fast access memory of the MCU.
The available 64kB  are already full.

Let me know if the just uploaded 0.9p actually fix the problem.
Thanks again for the report and investigation.

Thanks a lot for your quick responses.
Yes midiclock while browsing this bank crashes the Preen... I could reproduce that.

Will fix.

Thanks for the feedback.

Martin, your PreenFM2 looks Great !
White box + black letters + this classic green LCD ! Nice choice.

How did you do the black letters ?

Thanks for the aditionnal information.

That seems to be a bug in the PreenFM2. Whatever the midi info are, it should not crash.
I'll try to find information about the ZeroSL midi clock out.

To isolate the issue, can you try to remove JMP2, so that the USB does not power anymore the PreenFM, put JMP1 on.
Plug an USB cable to your computer AND the power suply DC.

Is it still crashing ?

Or it can be because of weird/parasite USB midi bytes ? which would explain why your stack targets new midi byte procedure....

Let me know if you find something new.

New thread created from messages about this problem.

The 5V provided by your PC can be too weak for the preenFM2.
Is it a laptop ?

Interesting, let me know...
Did you get normal "making price" (in addition to the price of the sheet) for the box ?
