Good with some living activity :D *Me like* :D
A shame that PreenFM 2 “only” is 4 multitimbral, would be cool with a full FM drummachine ;)

Hello to all...

I´ve run into a few issues with the Editor.
First of all how do you guys use it standalone? Do you connect the usb port and a midi keyboard to input notes via the midi input?
I get a lot of stuck notes this way and sometimes changing a parameter dont do anything.

Second one is i cant get the VST version to work. My Cubase doesnt recognise it as a plugin. Maybe i use the wrong .dll file.
Whats the msvcp110.dll file??

Hope someone can help...

greez Max

Question:
Have you updated firmware and bootloader to the newest version?

Thanks for sharing... I'll take a look.

Hello Xavier,
You’re welcome to take whatever you find interesting and forward it to our users ;)

However, note that some of the patches could have some kind of “copyright” I have just found them randomly by google-search :D
•   I can see that some pages sell Yamaha Dx-7 patches in packs :D

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Yamaha DX-7 patches

Hello PreenFM people,
I have a Yamaha tx-7 (Yamaha DX-7 rack) and some time back I searched for patches for my Yamaha Tx-7, as they are compatible with this PreenFM2, then I’m sure that some users would be interesting in getting hands on such patches :)

Some patches is probably repeated but I don’t have time for sort them out :D

Have fun and a good weekend.

Cool, my attempt at bitcrushing was a total failure ;)

Unfortunately I've been bogged down with work so I haven't had time, but I started implementing a delay to see what the performance impact is like (and as an excuse to practice ARM assembler). There's not too much RAM, but IIRC chorus/flanger type stuff doesn't need long delay times anyway.
Hopefully I can get back to that soon...

Hello pld,
Thanks for the info, would be interesting to see your result of Chorus/flanger :)

Bitcrusher?
This would give PreenFM 2 a option for sounding very nasty and harsh!

It would be cool to see more effects :D
•   Example a Ensemble effect. I think that FM and Ensemble would make a interesting Stringer because FM synthesis has more timbral variations, than the typical Stringer with sawtooth.

Hi teevee,
I had added a formant waveform and compiled my own copy of the os. It was super easy, and everyone on this forum was extremely helpful.

Hello matrix12x,

A friend of mine who is coder looked into the source of PreenFM 2 and told me:

“Checking the source code for the waveforms, it's just a pre-calculated lookup table. Therefore, it would be easy to add new ones. PWM/symmetry could be done using phase distortion."

I have some ideas after testing, which I want to share.

•         Randomizer knob, where can click and the unit will set “random adjustment” on the different parameter
•         The unit is 4 part multitimbral, how about 4 fans with each 4 part so you can fast switch between them?
•         I know there is space for lots of presets and combos, what about a menu in this editor where you can choose between the slots/banks
•         Load DX-7 patches directly into the editor. There are lots of free Yamaha DX-7 patches for download out there and they are as “.Syx” format. Additional loading patches for Yamaha tx-81z and Yamaha FB01 if they could be compatible for this unit.
