Cell phone charger as power supply
« on: August 08, 2012, 01:52:11 PM »
Pardon this post if someone has already suggested this but I found a simple way to power the device without the computer, i just use an old cell phone charge with a standard USB cable instead of the micro one the phone came with.. Works like a charm

Yes it works fine with any USB wall adaptors. USB is always 5V and most wall adaptors can give 500mA which is more than enough for the PreenFM.
And you get rid of the background digital noise that comes from the computer.

Been using a USB charger for ages. You can ever get 4 way mains sockets with a USB output built it.

I've got a gang of motorola mini USB chargers for older Razr Phones (wife and I had 2 sets each of those phones) and they work great.  Just snip off the end, slap on the B plug
