[solved] Midi sequencing Problem

(1/2) > >>

Maxicosi:
Hello,

finally i´ve put together my preenfm. I´m very happy it about except for one little problem.
I use my preenfm2 in conjunction with an octatrack as sequencer but couldnt get it to work.
when the octatrack is connected via the midi in port i can play the notes nicely with chromatic mode.
but when i place any midi note trigs in the sequencer the preenfm doesent respond to them.
There is no number blinking which shows the midi channel of the selected instrument.
I asked at elektron forum and they said that the midi data of chromatic mode and the sequencer is completely the same.

I´m a total midi noob so....

Any suggestions?

Max

Xavier:

Hello,

What do you trig from the sequencer ? midi note on ?
The numbers shows up when the preenfm2 receive midi note on... So if you send CC for example, you won't hear anything and won't see anything.

Have you checked sending the same sequence to another sound module ?
Or even better to a midi monitor program on your computer ? That would allow you to understand exactly what the octatrack sends.

Let me know what you find,

Xavier

An other idea :

Have you checked the midi channels the octatrack sends to ?
By default the 4 preenfm2 instruments listen to channel 1, 2, 3 and 4.
That can be changed in the menu.
You can change the 1st instrumnet to listen to ALL channel, to see what happens then.

Thanks for your reply...

The Octatrack usually sends midi note on/off and pitch data. I´ve set it up to send on channel one.
I will experiment with the midi channel settings tomorrow.
Unfortunately i´ve never used any midi monitoring programm but i´ll dig into that too.

I´ll keep you posted....

Mine PFM2 works fine with OT. I've set up instruments channels as 13, 14, 15 and 16.
