Original sources for parts
« on: March 17, 2012, 11:53:08 AM »
Howdy!

I've finally gotten my Preen working, after some issues related to my shoddy craftsmanship :D

I was wondering where the original button parts came from. I have done quite a bit of digging but I really can't find the same rectangular button covers that the kit has. The only ones I can find are the ugly round ones. I think they won't even work as the buttons are right next to each other, and the buttons would have no space between for the function labels. Is there some place that specializes in nice looking knobs and button covers?

Also strangely enough i had issues finding the correct audio jack :/ Is it a mono jack, or a stereo one?

Thanks! Preen + five12's Numerology is really fun stuff :D

Congrats  :D
I think you have the first PreenFM working without buying the Full kit !

The buttons are e-witch tac buttons :

Seach for "e-switch" + tacwht, tacblk, tacred or tacgry in google.

haha so I'm the first to build a non-kit? Surprisingly the only things that were hard to find were the buttons and the audio jack. I had no issue find the eeprom or any of the other ICs here at the local shop. :) It's great to not have to order parts. I also could only find a green LCD though, but that's not a huge deal.

Thanks for the link!
