Replacement Buttons/Knobs
« on: October 27, 2016, 10:06:03 AM »
Now that I have a metal case, I'm finding the buttons aren't long enough to stick out in the metal case, so I want to try and find new ones! Also what are some good resources for picking out new knobs?

Encoder knobs ? or push buttons ?
Both of them should work fine on the metal case  ???

The e-switch tacs  (http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/e-switch/TACWHT/EG1088-ND/101328) should stick out by 1mm with the metal case...  compared to 3 or 4 with the plexy case.
But 1mm is enough and give a pleasant feel to my opinion.
I'm not sure you cand find "compatible" taller ones.

Unfortunately they don't stick out at all. They are completely flush with the metal case. As for encoders can i use any replacement encoders?

That's not normal.
Seems like the PCB and the top panel are not closely enough screwed.
Is the OLED screen blocking ?
Could you send a picture of the OLED headers and a one that show the current situation ?

Replacement encoders with longer sticks ?
Encoders are this one http://www.mouser.fr/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=PEC11R-4220F-S0024virtualkey65210000virtualkey652-PEC11R-4220F-S24
20 in 4220F is the number of mm.
You can try PEC11R-4225F-S24 or -PEC11R-4230F-S24.
