Saving preset into empty Bank/Combo slot
fourhexagons:
Hello,
I just received a pre-built PreenFM2 from Ardi at Van Daal (thanks). It's running firmware v2.06. I edited the preset that was presented at startup and now I want to save it to an empty bank.
This is what I'm doing:
Menu > Save > Bank > select empty bank slot > press MENU
...but nothing happens.
Menu > Save > Combo > select empty combo slot > press MENU
...still nothing.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
Bryan

Hi Bryan,
Post the calibration issue here also.
Xavier can dig into it and give you a response.
About the save issue.
It might be a faulty USB stick or maybe i has come loose.
See if you can load a patch?
Xavier:
Hi,
<Empty> means there's no bank.
Select an existing one to store your combo or presets.
You can create a bank from the menu : Tools>crea.
Or copy an existing bank on the USb stick directly from your computer and change the file name of the bank.

Thanks, guys. It's funny, I had notifications disabled, so I hadn't seen your replies until now as I'm logging on to say that I figured it out. I even went through the same steps, first checking the USB stick, reformatting, trying a second stick, and then I played with the menus a bit more and finally discovered that you must first create a Bank/Combo in Tools > Crea *before* you can save into it. I hadn't expected that extra step, but I'm glad to be up and running now.
Xavier, adding a line like the following at the beginning of 2. Save in the manual might help other newcomers like myself:
Presets can be saved only into preexisting Banks or Combos. To save a preset in an empty slot, you must first create a Bank or Combo in that slot by going to Tools > Crea. Once you have created a Bank or Combo slot, you will find it under Menu > Save.

This post has helped me understand my new (to me) Preenfm2, as I was having exactly the same issue as the OP fourhexagons had. The manual was of no assistance, so the suggested entry the OP posted sounds like a good idea. Cheers.
