Linking/chaining two (or more) PreenFM2s?

Sorry if this was asked before but search doesn't give any relevant results on 'linking' or 'chaining'.

Purely hypothetically, if I MIDI chain two (or more) PreenFM2s and enable sending out CCs and NRPMs, will the second one respond to edit changes from the first one? I.e. will editing Instrument 1 be mirrored on the second unit?

I'm toying with the idea of chaining two units to get more MPE voices, using the same patches on all timbres/Instruments.

In a MPE configuration, if you set
. preenfm A
      Global channel : 1
      Inst1 midi : 2
      Inst2 midi : 3
      Inst3 midi : 4
      Inst4 midi : 5
      midi thru : ON
. preenfm B
      Global channel : 1
      Inst1 midi : 6
      Inst2 midi : 7
      Inst3 midi : 8
      Inst4 midi : 9
      midi thru : ON

As the MPE midi source is responsible for sending the correct midi channel if you specify 8 voices from 2 to 9.
That should work.
Midi thru on, every midi byte received on midi input is copy on midi output.
