Thanks for all the feedbacks.
I'll try to spend time on the editor soon.
Seems like it requires some polishing.

Hi Clément,

I'm glad you like your new FM synth.  :)
I can hear a high pitch noise parasite if my headset volume amplifer is set the the MAX.... which kill my hears if i play sound with pfm2 volume more the 50%.

For the story, the first idea was to put a blue OLED screen, but the noise it added made it unusable.
The yellow one is hardly hearable on reasonable volume on the preenfm i have.

You can try to manually add (make pins touch the PCB no need to solder) some electrolyte capacitor in parallel to the existing 220uF ones.
Le me know if you find anything,

Thanks Martin for the details, nice to see you onboard :)

thhmas, i see what you mean.
Button 7 shouldn't do go to "Done" state before any randomization is done.
Or it should display something like "No randomization. Use left buttons to randomize." instead of "Done" if no randomization was processed.

Hi,
Yes it is...

Thanks, i'm glad you like it. I like it too  :)
The idea of a modular randomizer like this was not from me... someone suggested it in the discussion thread some time ago in this forum. So thank you all  :)

Thanks  :D

Is the noise the same with your 2 preens ?
To be sure it's not a soldering problem with one on of them.

The more likely is that your USB 5V source is too noisy.
Is the USB cable plugged directly in the computer ?
Different suggestions :
. Using a USB power supply (but you'll lose midi over USB).

. Using an active USB hup... Can increase the 5V quality by providing it's own 5V.

. Trying to increase the 2 x 220uF capacitor circled in the attached picture (not the 330nF infor that is useless here)
You can first try to add an other capacitor in paralel. Put the two pins in contact (without soldering) and hear if that changes anything.
The 5V/ground pins at the bottom of the PCB can also be used for some experimentation. Try to manually put the bigest capacitor you have here while listening to the noise.
(Don't forget about the -/+ of the electrolyte capacitor and avoid shortcutting the 5V and the GND ;) ).

What i have on my list :

. Random patch
. BP filter frequency targetable from the matrix
And the biggest feature ever :
. The possibility to disable the sound when the preenfm2 is switched on.

They're all in 1.05.
Randomizer per synth area... With complexity / Harshness selector.
Don't forget to finalize your sound by hand  ;)
Use the left buttons to trigger a new randomization and use "Keep" to well... keep the area unchanged.

I still have to update the documentation.

Don't hesitate to share your feeling,

No problem, i'll send you that this week...
You should be able start playing with your preenfm2 without them.

Hi Arnaud,

The pictures are really blur...

The encoder must be the PEC11R-4220F-S0024 (or S0012).
http://www.mouser.fr/ProductDetail/Bourns/PEC11R-4220F-S0024/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMsWp46O%252bq11WUFm4YUtE9eu0bQ4CDTbEA0=
And the other component can be one of the 100nF capacitors:

But i don't uderstand what problem you had.

Did you break them ?  I can send you one of each for free if you need...
Shipping to Versailles will be cheap ;)

Hi Martin,

Check that your op amp is well placed, and that its ground and 5V pins actually shows 0V and 5V.

Then all the resistor values around the op amp.

Question:
I’m curious, what will we see in the future updates? :)

Don't hold you breath, i haven't started...

I don't sell any pre-built preenfm2, but that won't prevent you from asking someone to build it for you.

Trusted builders :
. Van Daal Electronics
. Clément Marion
. TubeOhm
