Hi,

Reasonable prices for the TFT are back on amazon : around 18€.
Search for "2.8" ILI9341" and check the back of the PCB.
I bought several times the "Hailege" brand. It works fine. It has an additional touch layer, so double it will fit in your preenfm3.

There can be such noises with pure sinoid. Moistly because Midi often use 0-127 integer value which makes gaps between each step that can be

I didn't get if you manage to flash firmware 1.111 ?
Do you get better result with more complex sound ?
I'll try to see if i can do something.

Hi,

The noise comes simply from the quality of the GND/5V that your computer USB provides.
Preenfms use directly this 5v so they're sensitive to their quality.

That's the reason why there's a jumper in the preenfm to disable the power from USB but keep the USB data.
Remove the "Usb5v" jumpter, and use a dedicated DcIn 9v wall adapter.
You'll get a clean sound AND the USB midi from the computer.

Hi,

The low  €/$ ratio + the preenfm3 MCU (STM32H743) at $30  (instead of $10) makes me hesitant to order a new batch.
I'll may do it before the end of the year, but i'll have to increase the pfm3 PCBs price.

I'm not sure i understand.

Matrix modulation and operator does not operate as sample sampling rates.
The LFO/matrix is 1024 times slower.

So it's not possible to "mix" them.

I'm not sure what you're doing.
I just gave a quick try and it works as expected (i think).

Save>Defl>Save  save the current combo (4 presets) and loads it when booting.
Save>Defl>Clear delete the default combo file and then it starts with the "preen mk2" preset on 4 instruments.

If you see weird behaviour, backup your USBKey asap.
And try an other one (or remformat it and copy back the files).

Why do you mean by which PCB ?
Doesn't the PCB have a version printed on it. I know VanDaal made custom PCB for Eurorack.
They are the only ones that sell Eurorack pfm2 from what i know.

How is your preenfm3 ? Metal box from van daal ? inserted in headers or soldered directly ? What PCB version ?
I try to gather infos to see if preenfm3 with display problems have some similar features.

Hi... I get sound when using keyboard and can effect this by inserting CV sources BUT with the Midi unplugged I get absolutely nothing ! I can't trigger sound using gate and V/Oct source.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

What CV source do you use for pfm2 CV gate ?
Have you checked the voltage it sends ?

You can adjust the Gate threshold if the CV is too low to trigger a note on the preen.
The preenfm compare the CV voltage it receives to the threshold, so if the voltage is too low nothin happens.

I think Toltekradiation's link above is OK if you select "No Touchscreen".
They simply use the same pictures for both options.

Hi,
I don't know much about Eurorack.

But i think the preenfm2 eurorack CV in are quite standard :
. CV1 / gate : triggers a new note
. CV2 / VOct : Vote per octavle. That can be callibrated in the Settings.
. CV3 and CV4 : are any CV in modulator that can be used as source in the matrix modulation.

Make sure you have a CV enabled firmare.
You should have "_cv" sufix in the title when booting it up.
And CV1-4 in the first matrix sources.

The touch layer adds around 1mm of thickness and it may not fit the VanDall case + plexi protection.
You may want to verify.

If you don't see the U2 chip soldered on the back of the PCB on the pictures, it does not have the touch layer.

No, it's not currently possible.
I think it was not so simple with the preenfm2. But i don't rememver why now.

With the preenfm3, you can use UserCC instead.
They can be set to any free CC in MIX > Global 2 page.
And then use in the modulation matrix.
