Hey everyone, i've had and have been enjoying the preenfm3 for a little while, but theres a small thing that's been bugging me and it's switching between operators in the operator section, let's say you're editing operator 4, and want to go back to operator 1 you'd have to press the same button 3 times to get there. but that's not all, there's also a bunch of attention that goes into changing to the right operator, just to make sure you aren't skipping the one you want to go to. but i've thought of a small QoL change that could help with this and improve the workflow in this regard. in the operator section of the preenfm3 button 5 remains unused, i thought that this button could maybe be used to send you to a 'menu' where you select one of the operators, with the corresponding buttons, button 1 = op1, button 2 = op2, etc. if this would be implemented the device would feel much friendlier and intuitive to me.
i'd love to know your thoughts about it.

You're right, the operator selector is not great.
There's several solution.
1. the one you describe
2. Replace the bottom column by 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6.
3. Add a shortcut : MENU + button : select the operator
I have a preference for 2.

i also think option 2 would be the most user friendly version.
what to do with 3 or 4 operator engines? simply grey out the others or regroup the buttons?

i really like option 2 you described, in half of the cases it'd reduce the amount of 'clicks' by one over the way i suggested to go about it, and it's intuitive nonetheless!
sadly i can't envision option 3, so i can't comment on that.

Option 2 sounds good to me too. I really like the boxed Operator graphics at the lower right of the screen. Also I think in any case, user attention/workflow would be improved simply by making the <Op "x" Oscillator> graphic near the top a bright, contrasting color.

I must admit when I read the suggestion, I didn't really think that making the bottom row of buttons select the OP would be that big a deal. But now that it's there, it has made navigation noticeably smoother. Nice one.
