Title: diff between preenfm and preenfm2

hello everyone,
sorry if I am asking a question that has been answered before and that appear to be a total newbie question: but what's the difference between preenFM and preenFM2 and how do we know that what we are buying is good model?
it is that I just found a second hand one, as it's close to my budget and I have been looking for one for a while but's a preen fm blue box, I don't know is there a diff in the material used? can we always update the preenfm2 on the preenfm model?

Parts:   1                 4      mono vs multi-timbre
Poly:    8                14      more notes
Algs:    9                27      more algorithms
