Title: [Fixed] PreenFM2 doesn`t boot

Hi!

I completed my kit today. All seems fine. But it only says "PreenFM2 v0.9c By Xavier Hosxe". And that´s all. If I press the left buttons when powering up it shows "PreenFM bootloader v1.00 USB upgrade" for example. But also this screen doesn´t disappear and it does not respond to the encoders or switches.

Any idea what might be wrong? My USB stick is FAT32 formatted and the pfm2 directory is there with the files in it.

Found it out myself... The PreenFM2 doesn´t like that old 512 MB USB Stick I would have liked to use. With a new 8 GB USB 3.0 stick it works.

I don't know what makes some old usb stick not to work.

I would really like the PreenFM to be able to reuse old not-used-anymore Usb Stick.

If you have time could you test my last (beta) firmware :

I just finished it and not tested enough to release it, but it contains a big rework and lots of fix regarding usb/midi/sysex.
It allows me to read my old 512Mb stick that other firmwares could not.

OK i will try it when i have to open my case again.. I build it from the PCB and i had all parts in except the MIDI connectors so i have to open it on emore time to get those in.. I also would like to get my new and big usb stick out of there.

I tried the new firmware... same thing it doesn't boot with the old usb stick but works with the new one. With the old one it get's stuck as soon as the whole screen lights up with the new animation.

Your old one had a '/PFM2/' directory, right ?

Is there any pattern to the problem?

Filesystem or partition table perhaps?

I think the old usb sticks are USB 1.0 and not 2.0 .. maybe that has something to do with it?

Yes, it seems to be USB1 related.

The 512Mb i thought was usb1 appeared to be USB2.
So i don't have USB1 to reproduce, I'll try to find an old USB1 Key.
If anyone knows a URL..

URL for getting an old USB memory stick?

Ebay would seem to be the only choice. But I can't see any that say USB 1.x, I guess buying one that's 64mb or so might work?
