Title: most useful user waveforms
Post by: TSR on August 22, 2016, 09:37:15 PM
Is there a consens about most useful user waveforms to complement the PreenFM's sound pallette?

I thought of sampling my Clavia G2's phase modulated oscillator in order to imitate some of the feedback-like operators of the DX7 and gain some more warmth by means of "not so sharp" saw-like waveforms. I know there are people argumenting to buy a DX7, if you want DX7 sounds.

Anyway - what type of user waveforms do you prefer for what reasons?

Also, does anybody know, if user waveforms are reduced to less than 1024 samples, once they have been imported into the PreenFM2?

I can answer your last question :

If your waveform has between 513 and 1024 samples, it will be imported as a 1024 samples waveform, with interpolation if needed.
If your waveform has between 257 and 512 samples, it will be imported as a 512 samples waveform, with interpolation if needed.
etc....
32 samples minimum.

For a user waveform I use a formant type sound I like.
