Title: Why won't some DX7 banks read on PFM3?
Post by: toddnickolas on February 11, 2021, 03:32:38 AM
Hi.  Just got my PreenFM3 a couple days ago.  Have a few DX7 banks in syx format that I really like and want to load into the PFM3.  Put them in the DX folder but the PFM3 doesn't recognize them at all.  Have some other banks I put in and they read fine.
 Advice?  Thanks!

Hi,

There are several different sysex dumps for the DX7.
The preenfm can only load the 4104 bytes files with 32 presets.

There are lots of them in the zip here : DX7_SYX.zip

Thanks!  There are some specific ones I purchased that I want to use on the PFM3.  Will a syx editor allow me to convert them so I can use them?

I now very little about the DX7 and the different sysex files.
I use a part of the Hexter open source code to decode the DX7 files.
If you can turn them into files of 32 presets with a 4104 bytes size, then it will work.
