They are well worth it. The viewing angle is brilliant, if you can see the screen then you can read it. Plus you don't notice how slow LCDs are until you've seen OLED.

Here's the difference, OLEDs are much thinner and the bezel is smaller as there's no backlight.

Upgraded here too, well worth the while.

PreenFM successfully constructed yesterday. Very impressed by resistor sheet and clear instructions over all. Wasn't sure about screws and spacers for LCD but I guess the slant helps seeing the screen. First attempt at powering up via computer USB resulted in lots of digital noise but now clean as a whistle once connected to a mains adapter. Wasn't sure about transferring sysex to upload presets but downloaded MIDI-OX and SendSX. MIDI-OX got stuck (repeatedly) at preset #119 with a buffer error, but SendSX worked fine. Good range of presets. Overall, v happy with PreenFM which is now sitting next to my equally excellent Mutable Instrumemts Shruthi.
