thanks!!!! it resolved the problem, works like a dream now sysex actually isnt needed because NRPN is very well implemented in preenfm, blofeld otoh needs sysex for some of the most important (and sometimes common) stuff like the mixer levels in multimode, which some of my favorite controllers (like the UC 33 from evolution) dont support that... thanks again!

so far, it works ok, only the mpc in multitimbral mode gets confused when moving 2 sysex encoders. the midi splitter does its job nicely the cool thing about the bcr is that you can set up the transfer speed or something like that. most of my gear doesnt support sysex so it kind of ignores that i think. but i thought the midi channel is already implemented in the 3rd line of the sysex string, like f0 then ID and then 10 for channel 1; 16 for channel 7,etc. would be possible to assign a unique preenfm ID followed by  channel on which it always listens (or can filter, like the option to receive only cc or nrpn from settings)?

Actually sending sysex to only to one synth, the string is same size like the ones from yamaha fm synths. when i hooked the BCR2000 to the mpc, it would cause note hang on different synths when moving 2 encoders with sysex at once, but with mpc->bcr2000->splitter, ecerything works fine except the preenfm behaving weird.

The synths are connected like this:   mpc->bcr2000->midisplitter->synths
before i had it like  bcr2000->mpc->midisplitter->synths  but it wasnt ideal as the mpc craps out from too many sysex strings at once.

Greetings!

Today I made a new template for other synth that is using sysex, each time I move the knob with any sysex command on my midi controller, the preenfm2 stutters (or the notes are interrupted, regardless to which device i send sysex) and the screen flickers. Is there a way to filter sysex commands on the preenfm?

a link to the place where i can buy this EXACTLY usb stick that comes with the PCB so i can use mine as donor.. high voltage problems not sure where could i get those as i live in germany since last year and the house was build 4 years ago with the best electrics stuff i could find here. i just hope its pure coincidence/unluck that the regulator failed after installing the new oled and case, anyway im going to install a fuse on this thing. if i ever recover my patches.

its all gone.. everything i created, all those patches...dispersed like space dust. im heartbroke. dont know what could have gone wrong, but a failing regulator shouldnt destroy usb stick that easy... ill need a link for that usb stick so i can swap the nand, if i lost all my work, im dead

on screen are just squares... indeed regulator shows 0 to little volts!

EDIT: the diode under the regulator is shorted, gonna take one leg out, and see whats there

EDIT2: swapped the regulator and the preenfm turns on, but still only squares on the screen

Hi, i just recently purchased the metal case and the yellow oled to upgrade my preenfm, and used it happilly in the last 3 days.
Last night i shut it down to find out this morning that it wont power on... The LCD will only turn on when i try to power the module from usb and thats all, doesnt boot doesnt do anything... i opened it up and dont see any smoked components or stuff like that, right now im far from my bench, ill have to wait till tomorrow to get back home to analyse this better.

Has anyone had the same problem? I used it only with 9V PSU

Came to report that nothing happens when i send a nrpn with parameter 16383, my controller doesnt receive any dump. tried max/min values from 0 to 127 in all combinations. Or is that function for usb only?

Edit: works now, nrpn has to be sent in absolute 14 bit, i had to use custom output command to my Dump button

wasnt there a CC command to make pfm dump a sysex patch? with the yamahas, i used to dump the patch in midiox and save them in sysex and throw them in a folder. on ipad there are many tools, i used to use mididesigner and made myself custom templates for each synth, and you could make a button to send custom CC etc

nice upgrade, no more crashes! (for the moment, at least  )
but like lokki said, it'd be cool to have the option to save combos with different midi channels, that way you can change the combo and have all instruments on same midi ch. for stacked, combo 2 to have each instrument on it's own channel etc. this way would integrate better with a sequencer that sends program changes. and when you make a new combo, let's say, every instrument is set as default (like you have it in settings) but with the ability to change that fast, not having to go each time in settings (i made some percussion patches, would love to use it as a drum machine sometimes). also, to have the option to save the performance parameters in the combos, and maybe a revert option for the encoders, and i can sell my soul to the.. no, actually i can sell my tx81z and other stuff, this is one of those little things with huge potential.
