So, nobody else is experiencing this kind of issue ? I guess we can say this is hardware related ?

-Yes it happens only with encoder f

-I got the impression that it's totally random  but when I was counting from 1 to 10 and that it skipped let's say turn 8 when going back to 0 then clockwise again it would skip turn 7, so one turn earlier (hope this make sense)

-First encounter of the issue was in mixer > volume but I also encountered it when setting feedback.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / PreenFM3 skippy encoders ?
« on: January 04, 2021, 08:20:09 PM »
So here's my issue :

On my PreenFM3 encoder f will sometime skip a turn. let's say I start from a value = 0

I turn the encoder ten times so the value should = 10 but for some reason sometime the value = 9 so the encoder skip a turn.

Strange thing is that it happens only when turning it clockwise , never when turning it anti clockwise

Am I the only one experiencing this kind of thing ?

everything is in the title, the 6 parts and 6 separate outputs of the PreenFM3 would make a great drum machine, any tips for drum synthesis using the preen (or FM in general) would be welcome !

its name is pfm3_firmware_0_101.zip

the last firmware files were at the same place and also inside the pfm3 folder

I deleted both.

Yes I can confirm that the firmware is in the root folder next to the pfm3 folder.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / [solved] PreenFM3 : No firmware in '/'
« on: December 23, 2020, 01:25:30 PM »
Hi, trying to upgrade from 0.98b to 0.101. Erased 0.98b files from SD card and replace them by 0.101 files but got the non firmware in '/' message displayed. pretty strange since I can still use my preenFM3 with 0.98b firmware, any idea ?

@JeffS thanks for the update.

yeah I noticed that when powering it via USB, would like to update to 0.97. I just connected it with usb cable to my Imac , everything is working fine, only issue is the SD card not appearing on my computer desk

In regular usage, the computer see the preenfm as a midi device.

To see the SD card from your computer you have to enter the bootloader.
As JeffS said :
  • Power it on while holding down the red menu button
  • You will get a menu. For SD card access it will say to push button 3. Do this.
  • Wait up to 15 seconds and you will see the image appear on the computer screen.

Then copy the pfm3_0_97.bin file on the root '/' of the sd card, not in the /pfm3/ folder :)

Sorry but where do I find the root '/' of the sd card ? I only see the /pfm3/ folder and inside it there's pmf3_0_96.bin but that's it ?
