preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Formant type "voice" patches
« on: November 04, 2020, 01:21:40 PM »
Hi,

There are a couple of "voice" patches in evidence in this clip from about 45 seconds which are a sound I really love...

http://mjabroux.free.fr/compo/PreenFM/PreenFMInside1.mp3

the clip was shared here as a PreenFM demo and it says the drums are from

I've been playing with modulating the vowel filters on mine, but I don't seem to be able to get anywhere near these sounds.
Am I just doing it wrong? Are these kind of sounds possible? I'm pretty new to FM really, so quite possible I am missing something obvious!

any tips gratefully received!

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / ARP Patterns/Directions
« on: November 02, 2020, 01:33:50 PM »
Tried to search this both here and via Mutable instruments, so sorry if I missed it... anyone know if the standard ARP Patterns are documented anywhere?

pattern 2 is nearly right, so want to almost copy it to a user pattern...

also - anyone know what the "RtDN" and "ShDn" in the directions stand for?

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Adding Power & USB switches to metal case?
« on: January 27, 2020, 12:13:33 PM »
Hi,

Just finished building my Preen FM2 (did my absolute best to mess up the build by using my own IC socket which only had space for turned pins because I am an idiot, but managed to recover that!)

I'm thinking of adding a switch for the USB power jumper, because in my main studio set up anything on USB power seems to be involved in a hideous ground loop that I am struggling to overcome, but it would be great to power it via USB when working with my laptop elsewhere.

While I am at it, I guess I might as well add a power switch if there's space, which leads me to my question:

Has anyone added such switches to a metal case and if so, where did you find the best space to do so? It's quite hard to visualise from outside the case....
