preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Built a new one :)
« on: June 23, 2014, 08:25:00 PM »
Built the latest version Preen with metal case. Build was easy, the case comes together nicely. It sounds wonderful, maybe a little better than the original FM2? Smoother?

One issue: I can't get MIDI in to work through the DIN connector. USB works very well, nothing through MIDI DIN. I switched the opto coupler and OpAmp originally, so I also tried another coupler (the one from my other Preen) with no luck.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Silly question

Is there a way to change the default sound that comes up at boot time? Haven't been able to figure out if that's possible...

Thanks!

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Not recognized as a USB device
« on: March 15, 2014, 04:22:58 AM »
Hi there -

I've had my PreenFM2 for some time now and it's been great.  The one thing that it has never done is to be recognized as a device via USB.  I have to open the back to get the stick out and put the new firmware on that. I've debugged it a little and I do have a good connection between the twin pins on the board and the USB processor.

Any ideas where I could look to fix this?

Thanks,

Mike

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Question about USB
« on: December 29, 2013, 09:51:32 PM »
Hi Xavier -

I have a question about USB. When I plug the FM2 into my iMac it id not recognized as a MIDI device.  Should it be? It's also not recognized on my PC.

One more: should the USB stick be visible to the Mac or PC as a drive? It would be convenient to have it work this way so that I don't have to partially dissasemble the case to get the USB stick out.

Thanks!

Mike

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / [Fixed] New Build, buttons do not work
« on: December 11, 2013, 01:42:01 AM »
Hi There -

Just finished my FM2 but have issues. NONE of the buttons work and the encoders just cycle between Engine, Modulation, and Mixer.  The volume knob works and I get sound when I send MIDI over DIN.  My mac does not see the device over USB.

I've attached a picture of my build.

Any thoughts?

Mike
