quick bug:  when Sonar saves / autosaves it sends the name '- Default -' to the PreenFM overwriting the current name as well as losing the name on the VST. :)

I had some free time and created some test drum patches.  I see a whole lot of potential for FM drums. :)

Nice too!  ;D  It has quite an 'Eastern' sound to it.

Nice!  ;D  A bit of delay on the chord part might be a nice addition.  :)

;D  I hate searching through patches

Edit: I updated the bank... Velocity was set for Mix1 on a few patches where Mix1 was maximised.
In the Matrix, it seems that a multiplier of 16 maximises the Mix1 value.  Is this correct?  I reset patch 5 (AckAck) to this to stop the clipping.  (ModW 16 Mix1)

thanks, Martin.

Thanks! ;D
I mostly created these on the VST.  Though, creating patches on the synth itself was pretty similar.  I just had to continuously look up where each IM and Operator went :)
The distortion seems to stick with a patch  when scrolling to other patches and back.  I'm not sure if that means anything.

Martin.

Edit:  updated bank... moved octaves to match my keyboard better :)

No worries.  I still have the patches here.  I should mention that they all have mod wheel and aftertouch and that the volumes and octaves are all over the place.  Also, two patches are out of tune that shouldn't be.  I'll fix it all soon enough.
Once you get them loaded, I have a bug for you :)  When scrolling patches in the 'load' screen, sometimes a monophonic patch will distort (volume clipping).  I have been trying to figure out why and I think it might be due to switching a patch while sounds are still running or playing notes before the patch has fully loaded.  Hopefully, you will be able to reproduce it.

thanks,
 Martin.

bummer.  I'd try importing them back into my PreenFM, but I'm not sure which bank they will put them in or if they are corrupt and will overwrite them with bad data.  Is it possible to select a bank to import them into?

thanks
Martin.

thanks!  Any luck with adding the ability to name the patch in the vst?

Martin.

Edited by Xavier for clarity : Here is the 128 patches bank

Here is a bank of 128 patches... mostly organized to Lead / Bass / Synth / Pad / Bell / Seq / FX

Running Status!  I really should have thought to ask about that one.  So I tried D4 first... disobeying orders :)... and so far it works perfectly!  Next, I tried D3... not so good... lots of W messages.
So Running Status it was!
Thanks!!!  You rock! etc. :)

small bug:  retrieving a patch with a negative fine tune returns 256 + fine tune value... ie  FTun = -24  VST shows: 232
smaller bug: Algorithm 3 has a max of 3 voices not 4 :)

Thanks!  It's still working great.

I found out that in Sonar you need to check 'Do Not Intercept NRPNs' in the plugin properties to pass NRPN values other than zero.

Bug:  When saving in Sonar (also Autosave), the Algorithm will go back one value as well as the Operator Shapes.  eg. if Alg. was set to 8 a save will send it back to 7.  It must be calling some routine when saving.

thanks again,

Martin.

Yep.  Just with the UM880.  Setting the releases to 0 or 255 made no difference.

I guess the next step, if you are up for it, is to create a test PreenFM OS that will print the incoming MIDI messages to the screen.  We can then check to see if the synth is receiving correct MIDI messages, bad messages, incomplete messages or no messages at all...  Just an idea.

I should at least switch out R6 for a 180 Ohm as a test...

Martin.

To clarify...
When I line up 2 notes in Sonar the Note Off occurs right before the next Note On.  Neither one gets triggered.  The further apart the notes / messages are, the better they trigger.
By High / Low, I meant the Voltages.  The voltage levels at which the pin goes high or low.  There are different tolerances for different chips.

I hope that triggers an idea :)
thanks,
Martin.
