Hi stimresp,

Thanks for the pictures. I like the blue of the PreenFM on this big steel keyboard.  :D
I thing that aftertouch was also passing because it's not a CC, but modwheel was definitely blocked.

Try the last firmware : 1.62.B1
http://xhosxe.free.fr/PreenFM/firmware/BETA/
The "Receives : None" option now let 4 CC passes thru :
. modwheel
. bank change
. all note off
. all sound off
It's note really a "none" but i think it's not a big deal and can be usefull as it is in your case.

Thanks for all the testing and the file (i'll try it tonight).

I tried these different keyboards:
. My novation Compaq SL through USB
. My novation Compaq SL direct midi to PreenFM
. My synthstation 25 USB
. My korg nano key USB

With the midi interface :
. safire pro 24.
. Emu xmidi 2x2

All works :-(

Another guy have a similar problem on a french forum.... I need to understand.

Do you have another midi sound module that works correctly in the same configuration.

Do you preenFM send midi correctly ?
Check in menu-> config -> midi that you send CC or nrpn.. then change let's stay the env1 attack.

So it turned out the 6n137 was broken. Got another one for less than 1€ and this one fits perfectly :)

Thanks for letting me know. That's good to know.

Since midi is working again, i did some testing and i was surprised that i am having note off/polyphony issues very much like those described in the bug that led to fix 1.61 (i am running this version, so i guess it cant be the exact same bug). Every second note played on top of a running note wont play, but causes the first note to get stuck. A third note will play simultaneously with the note that is stuck (first one). Whenever ill hit the key of the stuck note again, it stops playing.

The preenfm is connected to a motu ultralite mk3 & akai lpk8, the motu might be causing this issue too so ill do some comparison with other midi devices.

Best, Felix

Aouch !!!  :(
That sounds much worst than the one i fixed.
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this... but i'll really do my best to fix this.

Could you confirm what you get :
. play and hold a note A
. Play a second note B. => B don't play.
. Release B.
. Release A.
. A keep on sounding

Please could you confirm it works correctly with firmware 1.60, that would be very helpful. ?
http://xhosxe.free.fr/PreenFM/firmware/

Any additional information would also help me, is this behaviouor depends on the patch you use ? or do you always have it ?
If you record in a sequencer and play it from it, does it sound the same ?
If yes, could you share the midi file ?

Thanks,

Xavier

"KSyn:
Key synchronisation.
0 : the lfo live on its own... and is never modified by any event.
1- 255 : the lfo reset when a key is pressed. Betwen 1 and 255 the value represent the ramp up of the LFO. At 255 it will take to the LFO 4 seconds to reach is min and max value. Usefull if you want a "vibrato" that takes time to arrive."

Congrats  :D
I think you have the first PreenFM working without buying the Full kit !

The buttons are e-witch tac buttons :

Seach for "e-switch" + tacwht, tacblk, tacred or tacgry in google.

I've just started with it so I might be missing it someplace, but could the lfos and sequencers be made to not retrigger with each note? The sequencers might be tougher as the start point would need to be syncable, but the lfos should be easy enough. :)

cheers!

Hi,

You should play with the KSyn parameter in the LFO 1-3 screens. At 0 the LFOs are free-running.

Right for LFO 1-3  ;)
For the step sequencers all the "MidiClock" values that you'll find after 240 BPM makes the sequence synced with external midi clock. So it's not retriggered with each notes.

Actually no, 1.61 seemed to work that out just nicely - or then the fact that I now use a Motif 7 as a keyboard :)

Great  :D

Okay, so it seems i killed the 6N137 :o during troubleshooting (didnt get any more midi feedback since the .61 Update).

I think this one would fit as a replacement? http://de.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?sku=1021197&CMP=KNC-GDE-FDE-GEN-SKU-MARGIN&s_kwcid=TC|13114|6n137||S|p|8788799707 (I'm not quite sure if theres variations on this one out there).

. Check twice you inserted the 6N137 in the right direction

I would double check all the solder junctions/connections before ordering a new 6N137..
All the way, from the midi cable to the maple mini.

If you want a new one this one is perfect (as any other 6N137).

Let me know,

I like very much the first suggestion... moreover it's very easy to implement...  ;)
I will add it.

Not sure i understand the second one.. when you set the LFO4 in the matrix, set the mulitplier to 127 and the destination to "all osc freq", you don't have enough pitch change... that's what you mean ?

Thanks for the pictures....   :D
This is exactly how the LCD should be, the goal is to have a more confortable angle of vision when the PreenFM is on your desk.

I'm glad most of the problem seems to be fixed.

Istran, let me know if you still have stuck notes...

Good news but this is very strange.
If it fails again give a look at the solder junction  ;)

First congratulation for the 2 new PreenFM. It's always a pleasure to read that  :D
Stimresp, specialy if it was the first time you hold an iron...

Isran, note-off problems ???? I think 1.61 don't fix any note-OFF problem.
What is you configuration ? keyboard directly plugged to the preenFM ? What kayboard model ?

The 5mm ones seem to go at the front.

Aouch.... no....
You should have 2*5mm and 4*10mm...
5mm are supposed to be under the LCD, the 2 LCD screws should go through the two 5mm spacers.
The 10mm are  the ones to separate the PCB from the blue surface control.

Let me know if it's clearer,

Xavier

What do you mean with VST?

A VST plugin to control the PreenFM from within a sequencer.
I posted a screenshot on the FB PreenFM Page :
