preenfm2 and preenfm3 / i am reminded that i love my preenfm2

both of them.  greatest fm hardware i own, just awesome aggressive sound and incredible filter set that finishes the sound.  totally useful for drum and bass.  i could just keep going on the sound design with 4 parts to layer, its like a dream fm synth.  to me its more exciting than a plugin and sounds just as good.  and i havent started to animate with cc changes yet!  wow this is just too cool.  like london in a box!  no need for the digitone now...  and hey at least one of my white oled screens looks great!  i think ill do a different theme on the other one and use a colored screen.

anyways not bored sitting here any more!

is anyone aware of a suitable white oled?  a few years back they were not bright enough to look good.  perhaps that has changed?

i understand that this is too much for the cpu to produce, but what if we understood that the polyphony would diminish when using a ‘feedback enabled patch’?  is it possible to do?  i often use preenfm2 as a mono bass synth anyway.   if i dont need all that polyphony, can i have feedback?  i would dearly love to use it with preenfm2!

what a nice looking machine.  i love the display!  and the white knobs...     the way the editor is set up is very nice and easy to get around.  i would say that this is probably the easiest fm synth interface i can imagine, having used a few.  bravo on the matrix and the first 4 multipliers as destinations... that makes this thing a monster.  i am only using at most 2 lfos per voice and it already sounds very animated!  i can imagine using this in many synth capacities.  i may want another one (in which case im in luck, i have 2 more unassembled) because this would make sense for so many elements in my music.  i think this is a very good value for a kit.  the sound is simply gorgeous!  i need no other fm hardware, this will do incredibly nicely!

one thing i would love to see however is a phase control for the lfos that was controllable over midi cc

i would also like to be able to set the lfo shape with midi cc.

perhaps the bias setting as well?

any chance of a simple delay in place of the filter?

fold over distortion from that old thread might be nice too...  i can see the need for another pfm2

hi, collecting parts for the preenfm2.  i have most of them but not the main board or case that i ordered...  is there a way to track its progress?

im quite excited about using the LFOs in pfm2 since there just isnt any decent LFO action in any yamaha design.  which is too bad if you ask me since LFOs are where the mojo is!
