ok, the firmware i compiled (with line 290 adjusted) does crash, i think it is because every time i go past 24.9 there is no access to frequency anymore. first midi, then the preenfm crashes (all leds on, display shows some numbers, unit freezes). so i think i first need to remap the midi-clock mapping from 24.5 to something like 120... xavier any hints, where the mapping takes place?

cheers

ok, that command did not work. but i managed to just clone the missing repositories into the right locations. now i just need the vst2 sdk... on the steinberg site there is only the 3...

edit: the 2.x version is in there, now i just need to set the path in IntroJucer accordingly, which does not yet work.  8)

yes, well do i need to install juce just to compile it?
do i first need to compile the plugin for linux and then the host?

i get this when i try to compile the host:

Code: [Select]
Compiling AlgoPNG.cpp
Compiling Enveloppe.cpp
Compiling EnveloppeAbstract.cpp
Compiling EnveloppeFree1.cpp
Compiling EnveloppeFree2.cpp
Compiling MainTabs.cpp
../../../Plugin/Source/UI/MainTabs.cpp:22:58: fatal error: ../PluginParameters/include/PluginParameters.h: No such file or directory
 #include "../PluginParameters/include/PluginParameters.h"
                                                          ^
compilation terminated.
Makefile:131: recipe for target 'build/intermediate/Debug/MainTabs_1a903dc0.o' failed
make: *** [build/intermediate/Debug/MainTabs_1a903dc0.o] Error 1

of course there is no PluginParameters.h in the mentioned folder(not even an include folder)

xavier, what would be required to compile the standalone editor on linux?

339
the noise is to be expected with usb power from a pc i think. at least i know this problem from many usb powered devices. switching to a dedicated psu is always a good idea. the original problem seems to persist though even with a dedicated usb power supply, with no pc in the chain, so we can rule the pc out.

@soundrider: did you try with a 9v power supply? are there still display problems then?

340
well scratch that  ;D

let's first see if this is indeed the issue.

341
oh, the case is not grounded? that could very well be the issue then. let's hope it is as easy as adding a ground connection to the case.

342
other, maybe esoteric question, is there any preenfm2 without metal case and raystar oled that has this problem? ardi wrote about the metal shield adding whining noise in some cases. maybe the raystar is "problematic" with metal cases???

343
cool that works really good, thanks! let me know when you push the beta stuff to git, i hope soon  :D

cheers

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Compile your own preenfm2 firmware
« on: August 24, 2016, 10:38:33 AM »
Xavier's note : split from "stuck note! was: aftertouch bug" as it's now about compiling firmware
--

xavier, success!!! i cannot make it glitch anymore :-) will play some more with it, and let you know if there is something unusual, but it seems pretty stable to me.

thanks for all the time you put into it and into preenfm2 in general.

now for the next question, this is the non overclocked firmware, right? is there some info somewhere how i can build the firmware on a linux machine? overclocked and latest beta? once i have this done, i can maybe dive into the code and add some stuff on my own...
