Suggestion: Operator Solo function
« on: September 25, 2015, 12:30:25 PM »
Loving my newly build PreenFN2..

A pretty nifty feature of the DSI Poly Evolver is that you can solo oscillators by holding the particular oscillator button for 1 second then releasing (un-solo by clicking the button a second time) .  This becomes super useful for sound design as you can quickly listen to just that Oscillator.

You can also do the same with modulation sources.  For example, you can solo the effect of LFO1 by holding the LFO1 button for 1 second.  This temporarily turns off all modulators apart from LFO1.  Again, this is a very userful feature..

Question: could this be considered for the PreenFM Operators and modulation sources please?  Without dedicated Operator and Mod source buttons, it will be a bit more tricky to implement but maybe just holding the OP and MOD could solo for whatever Operator or Mod Source is currently selected..?

Thanks

Paul

That's a good idea.
It would be complicated to add that in the preenfm2 firmware.
But easy in the PC/Mac Editor.
Will think about that.

Just realize this:
The faster way to turn off an operator is to change is shape (waveform) to "Off".
Then turn the encoder back to set again the original waveform.
