Logic Pro - Editor Setup

Hello,

I am having trouble understanding how to setup the plugin in Logic Pro. 

I create and external instrument track and insert the plugin as a midi insert.  That's the only way I can see to do it. 

I set the midi in and out to the preenfm3.  I set the channel.  Everything looks fine, but I get no sound unless I turn off the power button in the Logic plugin window.  Then I get sound. 

If I change the preset in any way, say changing the algorithm or an envelope or something, the the preen switches with it.  But if I save the project, then quit the project, then reopen the project, the sound of the preen is completely different. 

In the readme for the plugin it says the preen will resume the sound that was saved with the file.  But it does not.   

I am probably setting things up wrong.  Also, how do I save a preset with all six sounds having set midi channels?   

Any help is much appreciated.

I don't know at all Login Pro so it's difficult for me to help.

Most of the time, the editor can be loaded as a regular VST instrument.
Use editor midi button to connect it to the preenfm.
Midi messages that the editor receives from your DAW are redirected to the preenfm.

Not sure it makes sens in you case.

It seems like the most recent version(s) seems to show up in the MIDI plugins instead of the software instrument plugins in Logic.

Oh i think i changed a compilation param.
Such as show as midi plugin, or show as synth... something like that.

Is it still usable ? or does that prevent it to run in Logic ?

That is what I was thinking.
It still mostly works in Logic. I think the norm is show as synth for a plugin like this. At least thats how all the other synth MIDI editors I have show up in Logic.

It kind of works.   But again, it’s weird that the plug-in window in Logic needs to have the power button off.   Also, again, though changing a parameter in the plug-in does change the preen the setting does not stick when saved with the Logic project. 

As for my default midi channel question, I would like it so when I start up the preen the default channels are 4,5,6,7,8,9.  Right now when I start up the preen they are set to 1,2,3,4,5,6.

I recompiled the macOS plugins (version 3.1.5) with "Plugin is a Synth" option checked in JUCE.
I think that was what i changed in the previous version.

I'm not sure why, but this newest version seem to crash the AU validation in LOGIC X.

I just tried everything over V3.0 (AU version) and anything over V3.0 seems to crash my AU validation. I had not noticed previously because I use the stand alone editor most of the time. (apparently since V2.12)

Just checked and V 2.12 works fine in LogicX.
 
I am running OS X 10.12.6.

of note, 3.1.4 does work, but as a MIDI effect.

OK thanks for the feedback.
But i agree it would be better if it works as a regular virtual Synth.
I'll give an other try when i have time.
There's a 90 days free version of Logic Pro available on apple website.
