NRJ4HH or NRJ6HH?
« on: March 07, 2022, 07:03:01 AM »
I'm pretty sure I need to get the stereo option.

However, just pointing out the wiki (at https://github.com/Ixox/preenfm3/wiki/Build) says "Neutrik NRJ4HH * 6 (audio jack)", wheras the Google Sheets BoM says NRJ6HH. Maybe this should be clarified?

Preenfm3 has six individual outputs, which are all mono. So you should buy the mono version, the stereo will not fit onto the PCB (since it has more pins)

Thanks Loki:

But the 6-pin version does fit on the PCB (see https://github.com/Ixox/preenfm3/wiki/build/pfm3_pcbs.jpg). Possibly it's mono, but the PCB is just mechanically constructed to allow either?

Interesting... I have an older revision board 1.2. where stereo jacks are not possible. So maybe better to have a word from @Xavier about this... Probably stereo jack is just allowed on the new boards, and the third pin not connected or connected to ground.

Sorry to be late on this one as it's quite important.
Yes in new board versions,  stereo jack can be used and that allows jacks 2,4 and 6 to be stereo when respectively 1,3 or 5 are not plugged in.
Can be usefull in some situation.

I'll update the doc. Thanks
