There's only 1 version now for the macOS.
I'm not a mac expert, i use the Juce library to code this editor, so i don't know what it's doing with the native macOS library.
Regarding the settings i chose, it should work on macOS 10.7 and newer.

There are lots of bug in the save/load states.
Don't use it to store your preset, save your presets on your preenfm2 and use the pull button of the editor to edit them.

Thanks for sharing, that's a nice project with the Morpher.
These are interesting sound coming out from it.

That was nice to hear the preenfm2 in some of your other tracks :)

i tried flashing b4 and its broken.  went back to 8.07

Did you "right click + save as" from github ?
You should not do that, just click on the firmware then click download.
It works.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: PreenFM2 SMD version
« on: November 01, 2017, 09:52:47 AM »
I'm in the process of redesigning a SMD version of PreenFM2.
The original goal of this design was probably to make it as easy as possible for people to solder their own kit.
Unfortunately  the Cerb40 module cannot be bought anymore so someone else has to solder the LQFP64.

Yes, the goal is to have a fun DIY synth project.
The preenF405 (CERB40 design adapted for the preenfm2) is and will remain available. So nobody has to solder the LQFP64 STM32 if they don't want to.

I don't get what you plan to sell ? the components ? Presoldered SMD preenfm2 ?

The move to OrCAD will move this project away from hobbyist.

Great, thanks for the feedback.
I replaced the main zip by the latest one that shoud work on macOs 10.7 and above.

1056
I've uploaded a new zip for macOS pfmEditor.1.zip.
Let me know if that works with old macOS versions.
Another guy on facebook told me it does not work with Mavericks, i hope that fixes the problem.

I was thinking to upgrade from Yosemite to Sierra and now I'm almost sure I should :)

Because it does not work on Yosemite ? What is the error message ?
I think i mix up with the deployment target in my macOS build.
It should work on older macOS version, i'll upload another binary for macOS later today.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: Vishay OLED brightness
« on: October 30, 2017, 09:07:12 AM »

Thanks for the feedback about this display.
A jumper for the OLED resistor was the way to go if your display is not bright enough.
I don't think there is other thing you can do.

Do you have a picture of it ? that reflects the brightness you see.

For the noise, you have to put a spectrum analyser (http://www.voxengo.com/product/span/) to be sure it does not add any noise at any frequency. Most of us don't hear the 13.5Khz peak of the yellow display.
Would be great to view what is the spectrum of you audio output with the preenfm2 switched on.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / PC/MAC preenfm editor 3.1.4 (Preenfm2 Unison)
« on: October 28, 2017, 07:57:25 PM »
Source code as well as Windows and macOS binaries are available here :

https://github.com/Ixox/preenfm2Controller/releases

For each OS, zip files contains the VST and the standalone version.

The editor is heavy to test, don't hesitate to report any problem or just say you're using it and it works under your OS.
That helps,
Thanks

Xavier

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: Schematics library
« on: October 28, 2017, 07:24:44 PM »

I think you're using Kicad 4.
Library management has changed, and preenfm2 schematics have been designed with Kicad 3.
If you can find the old version, that should work.
Else you have to convert the library, it's not straightforward but i think I found some tutorials some time ago.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: MIDI port jam?
« on: October 26, 2017, 07:52:04 AM »
Hi,

I have several questions.

It skips some notes and work again or does it stops completely receving any midi ?
What about the midi indicator on the display ? Does it stop showing the note on too ?

What do you have to do to make it work again ? switch off/on the preenfm2 ?
Do the same midi clip plays well on an other sound module ?

What DAW do you use ? Can you share the clip that shows the problem ?

Thanks,

Xavier

This is great! Just wondering if it would be possible to assign these to a CC value or mod matrix slot - it would be great to control the attack of all modulators with a single CC from my sequencer, for example.

And beta4 adds the matrix slots  :)

I agree something was missing. CC added in 2.08b3.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: PreenFM2 on Zynthian ?????????
« on: October 22, 2017, 06:35:58 PM »
Edited....

I agree, i'm not sure the preenfm2 engine would be as interesting outside the preenfm2 hardware.
One of the  big challenge was to have its flexible polyphonic FM engine working in a small box with a small display.

I don't agree about "100 free FM VSti which goes beyond the features/limitations of preenfm2".
But i'm a little biased. ;)

But the question was : "would you allow me to ask around if someone could convert PreenFM2 into a Zynthian copatible engine ?? And then would you allow to ake it available to everyone ??"
So the answer is : no problem, that's what open source is for.

Yes you can use preenfm2 code for any project you have.
Projects that use preenfm2 code have to be open source too, that's the only constraint.
