preenfm2 and preenfm3 / Re: PreenFM2 USB issues.. (Windows 7 / 64bit)

I had exactly the same problem: The PFM2 wasn´t recognized. No way. Not even connected straight to the CERB40.

I found out that I damaged the Mini-USB jack with my self assembled Mini-USB plug. I don´t know why but I pushed two of the five contact stripes out of the back of the jack. That was very hard to find. I hardly could see it. So there was no contact at line 3. I pushed them back in. But the were broken. Fortunately I was able to solder a little piece of metal (cut from a resistor) between the two dead ends.

All at once: It works! I was able to install the driver and update the bootloader.

Found it out myself... The PreenFM2 doesn´t like that old 512 MB USB Stick I would have liked to use. With a new 8 GB USB 3.0 stick it works.

preenfm2 and preenfm3 / [Fixed] PreenFM2 doesn`t boot
« on: December 03, 2013, 07:12:13 PM »
Hi!

I completed my kit today. All seems fine. But it only says "PreenFM2 v0.9c By Xavier Hosxe". And that´s all. If I press the left buttons when powering up it shows "PreenFM bootloader v1.00 USB upgrade" for example. But also this screen doesn´t disappear and it does not respond to the encoders or switches.

Any idea what might be wrong? My USB stick is FAT32 formatted and the pfm2 directory is there with the files in it.

Thanks!

The BOM says: "Wall power suply 7 to 9v :"

I tried 7,5v / 350mA - it seems to be too weak. The LCD is flickering. 7,5v / 600mA works well!
