on a "normal" delay you have two parameters, delay length and feedback. you are right, that the delay length is limited on the preenfm3, this likely will not change. so you only need one other control for feedback, which controls both, number of repetitions and as a consequence volume drop. the two are directly related and it does not make sense to split them into two params. at least not on a regular delay. essentially you control the amount of delayed signal that you feed back into the delay. does this make sense? other controls on a delay might be tone to affect the darkness of the tails to emulate an analog delay or modulation to emulate the pitch wobble of a tape delay.

those are normally (on almost every delay) one parameter, called feedback...
the higher the feedback, the more repetitions you get and hence the volume drops less fast per repetition..

i did some similar work on preenfm2, but i have no access to those files anymore. in my opinion (if you tackle this) it makes much more sense to implement this as an option in the settings. it is very likely that a user will set this once for his setup... so an option to choose what Program Changes should do on the preenfm3, either load a different sound on that channel, or load a whole mix. i think there is a global midi channel on preenfm3 as well? it was another thing i added on preenfm2. so maybe program changes on global midi channel could load a new mixer file?

delaytime is limited by RAM. the delay is already downsampled to increase the delay time, so no it is unlikely that it can be prolonged much longer.
what was done on some fm synths in the past (80ies) was to add a midi delay fx.
a note that had been played would simply be triggered again after some time. a bit softer and with less overtones this made for a convincing delay fx

you don't have to use the additonal outputs if you don't want to. you can route everything in stereo

Ok should read the used ones... Sorry. I haven't looked at the code to see how you did it, it just seems obvious to have a dynamic array for each OP and voice in which you load the desired waveform into...

Wouldn't it be possible to place the waveforms in a slower area of the ram and load the used one dynamically into the faster ram? That way you loose the ability for waveform change while playing a note but it is done like this in many synths I guess. Maybe you could even load waveforms from SD card directly this way

The midi out is simply one leg of the main processor going thru a resistor, so by looking at the schematic you should be able to find out which leg you have to solder to...I am not home, so can't check for you
