It would be very cool if we could buy a Metal Enclosure+Oled Upgrade kit!

Will it have wooden end cheeks?

Any photo/render?

Wow that sounds like a lot of work Xavier!

Will this metal case be compatible with current hardware?

Will this Cerb replacement also be backwards compatible to upgrade PreenFM2?

Will this be a future PreenFM3?

Sorry to bother with so many questions but your comment sounded intriguing!

I am not actually looking into emulating a dx7 faithfully with my PreenFM2, I agree there might be easier ways.

I was just reminiscing some friend that had prior experience in one and in that sense would have made things easier for people like him, although I would not sacrifice further development in other areas to improve the Preen´s ability to emulate a dx7.

It was just that I thought that Xavier had some more tweaks up his sleeve on this subject. No biggie anyway!

Xavier it would be great if the preset parity with the DX7 could be improved, just because many have used one before and might think they know what to expect sound wise when choosing a preset from it.

The one I settled for 4 now.

Might swap knobs if I get tired of it.

I like these knobs.

Although they are not soft touch, they have a nice diameter and are set with a screw which make them a bit more flexible to use in different shafts.

Some more combos.

Notice that I tried to also play with button colors to see how it looked.

Have to work around the attachment size limits!

This time some red on black with some brown thrown in.

Very 80´s

Been testing different color combinations of Knobs and buttons.

Button color choice was limited to what´s available, black, white, grey and red.

For the knobs, they are all the same basic design. The ones I chose to use, had their pointers removed to suit the encoders´way of use.

Also replaced all top screws with black hex type.

Hope you like them and don´t hesitate to vote.

I had an all white setup, but now swapped for the grey button-bright orange knob layout. It complements the blue lcd nicely when lit and gives it a retro-different look from my Shruthis and other DIY synths.

Super!

All is wonderful now!

I can see the usb stick in my Mac and also the beautiful orange led on the pcb finally lighted telling me I soldered it properly! :D

Thank you Xavier and also 6581punk for all the help!

Ok, now this feels embarrassing, but I have close to zero terminal skills...

I managed to move to the appropriate directory, and flashed both boot loader and over clocked firmware!

My PreenFM2 now boots into the new firmware!

But, if I plug the usb cable to my Mac, I should be seeing the usb stick appear as removable media right?

I see no such thing, am I missing something?

Thanks!

Thanks for all the patience!

Where should I have the respective .bin files? Because I tried this and the terminal says it can´t find the files.
