Hi lokki,

I'm not giving much help here, but I can tell you the exact thing happened to me several times, as you describe it in your first post.
I can't remember in which conditions though...

Just to let you know this might not be an isolated bug ;)

I gave it a shot and the results seem to be great indeed, thanks Xavier! :)

I'll go one spamming here, please do the same with your music!

With another band called Le Colisée we just released a track called Géraldine.
The PreenFM2 was used to do the electronic tom sound that is sort of doing a percussive melody / bass, starting at 00:16.

Hey guys,

I'm playing in this super-guitar-band called Castus. It's called after the family name of the founder of the band, who used to play short & funny guitar loops but decided to stop the live-looping and ask friends to play all the small riffs here and there, so that we are now 5 guitars, bass and drums.

I helped him to record his last album and managed to sneak into it some Shruthi and PreenFM2. So far we just released one track, in which you can hear (quite in the back I have to admit) a melody doubled by the PreenFM2, which starts around 2min06.

The funky riff starting at 1min24 is processed through the Shruthi, as well as the ending eBow guitars at 2min58 that kinda sound like accordions.

Anyways I hope you guys like it. If anyone is in Brussels on April 6th we are playing to celebrate the release of the record.

I actually worked with another band, more pop, in which the PreenFM2 is more obvious when it's there, but it's not released yet.

Hi Djordje,

I didn't use a magnet, if you like at the pictures I posted on the previous page you'll see what I've done, which was some kind of a shield with solder.
The results are really good, it really decreases the amount of noise in the signal, still I wouldn't use my PreenFM2 live because of that :(
Also, it doesn't kill the noise in itself: it's helping no to have it too much in the signal, but still, you can hear this noise from the machine itself, I mean acoustically, if you are standing close to it you can hear the screen is making some noise.

Hope that helps...!

Hey, I'm just passing by as in the last few days I got back to making more music and play with my PreenFM2.
The new custom waveforms option is marvellous!

Ah yes! I'm using those Adventure Kids waveforms in Ableton, looking forward to try them within the PreenFM2!

Bravo Xavier!
With my recent moving between houses I didn't finish to install my music making space yet, but I can't wait to get back to the PreenFM :)

Well if you just hook it up to your computer, you can write MIDI notes in a program (like Ableton, Logic, etc...), and send them to the PreenFM2 via USB or MIDI.
That is, if you have a computer.

I got the time to play a bit around with the new Note Midi Scaling, that's really a huge plus for me!
So many patches I felt deserved a different balance depending where it would be played. I'm gonna try and edit a few of them now to see what happens.
Oh and great job on creating two of those :)

Oups, I wrote a short message yesterday but I guess I forgot to post it...
Anyways, I was just showing my enthusiasm and hope to experiment soon with those additions. :)

Ok, I don't recall having this issue using the editor + Ableton at the same time (I'm using real MIDI cables, not the MIDI-through-USB, on a Mac computer).

About the Push / Pull stopping working after a while I get the same thing. I didn't report it anywhere because I didn't study yet when it happens. For a moment I thought it was only using the MIDI-through-USB, then I thought it was only when using the editor, but I think I got the issue also here and there, as if sometimes the MIDI input of the synth freezes and you have to reboot. But as I said it deserves in depth observations of the issue.

You can use the standalone app at the same time as you are running Ableton.
I don't understand why would you use a virtual midi port? Ableton and the standalone app don't need to communicate with each other.

About the VST, Ableton can not output (or not exactly from a plug in like this) NRPNs, so I don't know what you mean by wrapper but the problem is really within Live. You can open the PreenFM VST but the messages won't get through.
I started to work on a M4L editor for all the parameters, as you can play a bit around and manage to send NRPNs that way, but I haven't been working on it for a while and I'm so pissed at Ableton lately for all those simple issues that I'm starting to look a bit around for something else...
